"Through this hand my life is going to improve because I will be able to handle my daily activities."
Wilson's Story
Wilson, a dedicated businessman in Langas, Eldoret, runs a small food kiosk that helps support his children’s education. His life took an unexpected turn in 2015 while he was working as a passenger van driver. With his hand resting on the window, a passing transport truck struck it, severing his hand and forever changing his ability to work and provide for his family.

The aftermath left Wilson navigating daily tasks with newfound difficulty, and even simple activities like driving or running his kiosk became nearly impossible. For Wilson, the lack of affordable prosthetic options in his region meant he had to adjust to a lifestyle he never anticipated.
Despite the challenges, Wilson continued serving his regulars at the kiosk, facing the unspoken judgments of new customers who sometimes doubted his capability. But with his new Victoria Hand prosthetic arm, Wilson’s confidence and functionality have transformed.
Now, he is able to handle daily tasks with both hands, from serving customers with ease to managing his business with a renewed sense of independence.
The Victoria Hand Project collaborates with local healthcare providers to manufacture customized prosthetics directly in low- to middle-income countries, making this technology accessible to those who need it most.
